Hey!

I am Mark. Photography wasn't something I sought out, at least at the beginning. My girlfriend at the time (now my wife) was into taking pictures since before we got together. As we continued to date our friends and family would periodically need pictures taken, she gladly stepped up to each ocassion. I spent the first several sessions toting around her camera bag and handing her a lens here and there.

Eventually, I got curious and picked up her Canon 60D and decided to take it for a spin. I played with the settings and took a few blown out, out of focus pictures. Quickly realizing I was out of my element, I deleted the pictures and put back the camera. Fast forward a few years later and my girlfriend was about to graduate college. She needed graduation pictures but didn't have the extra chedder to pay for an actual photographer. I was volun-told to take her pictures for her. With her guidance, I picked up the camera and began to shoot. I started learning the basics and soon this small favor turned into something I really enjoyed doing.

I soon began stealing her camera and taking pictures of landscapes and buildings around our city. I began learning about ISO and shutter speed and researching lenses and new cameras. One thing led to another and our little passion project became a side gig. Two cameras later, a few new lenses, and some experience under our belts led us to shooting senior pictures, gender reveals, and eventually weddings.

Hello,

I am Emily. My journey with photography began in 2012 when I started a commercial photography class in high school. The reason I took photography is a bit comical now that I think about it. I joined photography because I needed another class to fill my schedule. That's it. Not because I loved the idea of being a photographer or because I thought it would be interesting. Nothing like that. At the time, I would have much rather preferred to get early dismissal but that wasn't allowed until I was a Junior. So there I was, sitting in my counselor's office feeling annoyed and frustrated that I was going to have to pick an insignificant elective just to fill my time. I finally gave in and settled for the photography class because I thought it would be a blow off class.

I'm so grateful looking back that I had to pick an insignificant elective, because it turned out to be the opposite! Within a short time of joining this class, I soon learned to admire the work of people like Annie Lebowitz and started to imitate her beautiful artistry any way I could. In this class we learned all different types of photography. I actually photographed my very first wedding while taking this high school class! At about 15 years old, I knew photography was the path I desired to take for my life. I had never experienced the feeling of capturing a perfect photo before and it was the best feeling I had ever experienced. Nothing else in life had ever given me the same feeling. This wasn't work to me. It was fun.

I never lost my vision for what I hoped and dreamed my photography business to be one day but I did take some detours along the way to getting here. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit and we were all quarantined, I had nothing but time and I finally decided to devote all of my energy into this dream that I have had since I was a teenager. There is nothing better than finally beginning to build your dream and work your dream job. Getting to work alongside your best friend is pretty great too!
